On the Move

There are so many different ways to travel these days, but being the sea creature I am, catching the ferry is by far my favourite. In fact, I don’t think there has been a time in my life where I have so regularly taken the sea passage as my time in Scandinavia. It has become a ritualistic photographic experience for me where I do laps around the boat, trying to figure out how this ferry differs from the last, and how the people on it differ depending on the route.

On this particular day, we took the ferry from Frederikshavn in the north of Denmark, to Gothenburg, the second largest city in Sweden. This was not the final destination however. After a picnic, a stroll through the city and a single frame taken, we continued our venture to Hamburgsund. Lying about halfway between Gothenburg and the Norwegian boarder, this coastal gem is how I imagine peaceful living. Here the houses are divided by massive granite outcrops, providing an alternative passage between streets and fantastic vantage points to look down on the houses below.
